Combat the Fall Doldrums with the 'BRU/SFO' Belgian Beer Month
This coming weekend, you'll be forced to take part in one of our most perverse rituals: daylight savings time. Almost immediately, you'll switch into hibernation mode as the sun creeps past the horizon just after you get home from work. The best way to combat seasonal fatigue is to fortify the body with rich ales, in our professional opinion -- if you start your training/liver punishment on the first of the month, you should be tough enough to face the darkness as we "fall back" this Sunday. Thankfully, the good folks at Magnolia and 21st Amendment are offering a serendipitous opportunity to ingest some hearty Belgian-inspired brews with the annual 'BRU/SFO' Belgian beer month.

Starting on November 1st, each brewery will release three beers that aim to capture a slice of Belgium's diverse brewing tradition. Over the next three Mondays, each brewery will add another new beer to the mix, leaving us with a dozen worldly brews to enjoy over the course of the month. Bold travelers can punch a passport each time they try a new beer, and receive a commemorative glass at the end of the journey. Magnolia's brewer/proprietor Dave McLean plans to offer food specials to pair with the beers, which cover a range of styles from a delicate saison to a dark, rich dubbel. The brewery also hopes to put together a prix fixe dinner during the second week of the event, so stay tuned for details. Get acquainted with your fall fortification schedule, below:
