Since this week is the perfect storm of events and happenings, we're making sure you don't miss a sip. Here is our guide to all the booziest and best events that this crazy, everything-happening-at-once week has to offer.

Wednesday, Oct. 3rd

Whisky Tastings at the Fifth Floor
Where: Fifth Floor, 12 Fourth St. (at Stevenson), 348-1555
When: Wed., Oct. 3rd-Thurs., Oct. 4th, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Cost: Free!

The rundown: To get everyone fired up (or console if you couldn't get tickets) for the sold-out WhiskyFest, bar manager Brian Means is hosting Whisky brand ambassadors tonight and tomorrow for free whisky tastings. Wednesday (10/03) hosts Jennifer Graham of Cooley Distillery will be pouring Connemara, Tyrconnel Single Malt and Kilbeggan Irish Whiskies, and tomorrow it will be Chris Fu (Anchor Steam) and Stewart Buchanan (GlenDronach and BenRiach) pouring some fine Scotch Whiskies.

Hops & Scotch, Beer and Scotch Pairings at Hopscotch

The rundown: Serving up a trio of whisky and beer pairings for $10, Oakland's Hopscotch is featuring combinations like Caol Ila 12 year old Islay Single Malt Whisky with Drakes IPA, Suntory Yamazaki 12 Year Single Malt Whisky with Asahi Black Kuronama Lager, and Templeton Prohibition Rye Whiskey with Coedo Beniaka Sweet Potato Lager. All parings come with a full 1 oz. shot and a full pint of beer.

Thursday, Oct. 4th

Brasserie S&P and Glenmorangie Scotch Hour
Where: Brasserie S&P (at the Mandarin Oriental), 222 Sansome (at Pine)
When: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The rundown: Glenmorangie brand ambassador David Blackmore will be on hand at the bar pouring complimentary samples of their single malt and learn all about this highland whisky.

Bocanova Tequila and Mezcal Dinner
Where: Bocanova, 55 Webster (at Jack London Square), Oakland, (510) 444-1233

The rundown: For those not so fond of whisky will enjoy this five-course dinner paired with a selection of Siete Lenguas Tequilas, Del Maguey Mezcals, and Drake's beer. The menu is focused on Jalisco-style fare of seafood and goat birria. Check out the full menu here.

Saturday, Oct. 6th

Hudson Whiskey Dinner
Where: RN74, 301 Mission (at Beale), 543-7474

The rundown: Five courses paired with five Hudson Whiskey cocktails at this indulgent dinner with representatives from the distillery on hand to walk you through the process and history of the distillery. Check out the full menu here.

Food Truck Frenzy 10: Blue Angels Edition
Where: Rock Wall Wine Co., 2301 Monarch Bldg 24 Alameda, 510-522-5700
When: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Cost: $5 in advance, $10 at the door

The rundown: As an alternative place to view the Blue Angel action, check out this food truck rally out on Alameda's old Naval Air Station. Wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase along with food from Le Truc, Arki Truck, Veritas, Bombzies BBQ, Streatery, Tandori Chicken Mobile, Sweet Treat Stop, Munch India, Surano Burger, Grillaz Gone Wild, Cocco Tutti, Pietisserie and Boffo Cart.

Sky High Party
Where: Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 222 Sansome (at Pine)
When: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

The rundown: Get Sky High (on fun, watching jet planes, and cocktails, not that other stuff) on the 40th floor of the Mandarin Oriental at this unique viewing party. Entry gets you bites and sips of cocktails and wine. If it's foggy, this might be the only place to actually see them fly!
