(Update: 3:08 p.m.) SF Weekly intern Coburn Palmer reports that the Ferry Building is open and business as usual; the doors in front of it are closed off but you can still enter and exit on the sides. Across the street, One Embarcadero has been evacuated, including all the dozen-odd restaurants inside.

(Original Story, 2:43 p.m) Our news blog The Snitch is reporting on a bomb scare happening right now on the Embarcadero between Howard to Washington streets. Police have evacuated part of the Ferry Building, traffic is backing up, and more businesses could be affected. Head over to the Snitch to watch the story develop -- we'll bring you more news on the affected restaurants and businesses as it comes in.
