Angelina's Halloween Cookies: No Trick, Just Treat
When I was younger I marked the changing seasons by the rotation of holiday-themed cookies on display at my favorite bakeries. And the best thing about reverting back into my childlike state of pre-holiday excitement as an adult is that I am no longer told "not before dinner" as I gaze longingly into the glass case full of sugary delights.

When I stumbled upon a big, icing-covered, sprinkle-topped, pumpkin-shaped cookie at Angelina's Café in the Richmond District, I couldn't help but stop and think why the hell not?! It was one of those cookies where the icing was a little bit hard and the cookie was a little bit soft and I bit into it and thought yes, this is what life should always taste like, especially when it only costs $2.25. I'll be back soon to further encourage my Halloween holiday indulgences and to try the cocoa rice crispy treats with orange pumpkin sprinkles. What a wonderful season to eat, drink, and be scary!
