If you're in the Financial District and looking for a cheap way to support your early morning caffeine craving or need for a mid-afternoon metabolic boost, consider venturing to the Hilton. That's right: The heiress-spawning luxury hotel chain has opened the Coffee Shack, a coffee truck on its front drive with a commitment to serving nothing over $6.

This short-but-appealing menu provides just the right amount of options and is sure not to break your budget. It includes breakfast burritos, pastries, and fresh fruit in the morning; salad and sandwich wraps, spiced pork served in a rice bowl or on a corn tortilla, and build your-own bratwursts or hot dogs for lunch. Primo Espresso's dark roast coffee, priced at just $1 a cup, may be the best bargain at the shack.

The Coffee Shack is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at the corner of Kearny and Washington, is the ideal sidewalk stop for city visitors, students, and Financial District workers on a budget.
