The rundown: Basque, French, and American cuisine should be certain highlights of this year's benefit for Project By Project, a broad-based non-profit that supports charitable causes focused on the Asian-American community. Tasting events can feel like collections of mediocre appetizers, but when the participating restaurants are quality spots such as Pipérade, Gitane, Farallon, and Yank Sing, you know the food is going to be good.

The event's Financial District location is distinctive. The Bently Reserve is a majestic feat of architecture that was formerly known as the Federal Reserve Building until the organization moved in the eighties. Plate By Plate allows a glimpse into a classic one percenter's locale, only this time it's with a benevolent purpose.
