The rundown: STREETSMART4Kids, a non-profit dedicated to alleviating homelessness among young people, hosts an annual two-month initiative called Dine Out and Donate. The 40 participating local restaurants collect public donations from September 15-November 15 to support Huckleberry Youth Programs, La Casa de las Madres, and Larkin Street Youth Services.

This year's Dine Out and Donate launch party takes place at Foreign Cinema, a restaurant that often hosts special events to benefit charities focused on local youth. Admission includes open wine and beer bar, h'ors d'oeuvres, and valet parking. Proceeds including donations made in the evening's raffle and silent auction go to support the initiative.
