Hapa Ramen Seeks Public Support to Build Dream Kitchen

Hapa Ramen, vegetarian-style.
Chef Richie Nakano and crew have worked for nearly a year to open the first brick-and-mortar location of Hapa Ramen. While an opening date has yet to be set, after two years of throwing pop-up events and appearing at Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market and Off the Grid events, Nakano's kitchen equipment has taken a bit of a beating and hopes for a fresh start in the new space.

With 13 days to go on a Kickstarter initiative, Hapa Ramen has raised close to $10,000 of its $55,000 goal. There are edible incentives to donate, like jars of pickles and tokens for ramen, and there's also a video contest running simultaneously: Submit a link to the best video of you talking about why you love Hapa Ramen, and the winner will be cooked a private meal for four.
