Petaluma bakery Della Fattoria has the chocolate chip cookie for people who don't care about chocolate chip cookies. The secret to winning over nonbelievers is a round and wafer-thin shape and the judicious use of brown sugar in the batter.
The chocolate chips are about half as big as those in a typical cookie, but there are also more of them than you might normally see. The crispness puts the cookie close to florentine or even brittle territory, and one is not going to be enough. Fortunately, they're sold in bags of 10 for easy gluttony.
