Watch: Yelp Reviews Read by Professional Actors
Yeah, we know everyone's been posting this series, but the "Real Actors Read Yelp Reviews" videos are such a treat that we had to share them too. In the first episode, "1-Star Review of Stratford Diner by Dan B.," actor Chris Kipiniak manages to inject the full range of human emotion into what is essentially a run-on sentence:
We found episode no. 002, "4-Star Review of Tamarind of London by Nathan A.," a little less successful. Therese Plummer gives a spirited reading, but the review itself is amusing without her embellishment. (Sample sentence: "The butter chicken ... tender, moist pieces of dark meat chicken smothered in this delicious sauce with tomatoes, honey, cardamom, and what I'm assuming is a pound of laxatives.") The joke's funnier when the subject matter's more mundane.
Still, we're looking forward to more. And here's hoping for a Gatz-style stage production in the near future.
