June is the Time to Dine about Town
| Camila McHugh |
The second Dine about Town of 2012 kicked off on Friday with a smattering of restaurants all around the city serving a two-course lunch for $17.95 or a three-course dinner for $34.95.
I got started at Marlowe where the rustic wooden chairs were full of eager lunchers, almost all of whom were gobbling down the Marlowe Burger. A juicy patty of lamb and beef, this burger is a favorite at this bistro tucked across from the Cal Train and the ballpark. Though the towering caramelized onion and cheddar cheese monstrosity was tempting, I opted for a hearty mushroom soup and a deviled egg sandwich (both also regular menu items available for a Dine About Town deal). I'll admit I cheated a little and ordered some crispy Brussels Sprout Chips on the side.
The menus are the same as they were back in December, so check out our recommendation for the seven restaurants we'd eat at. If you're having trouble sifting through the plethora of options, try Menuism's Expert's Guide to peruse more efficiently by searching by cuisine, dish, or another keyword.
