Drake's Brewing Celebrates Dads and Anniversaries
It's been nearly a decade since The Man Show was cancelled. Many fathers are still mourning this profound loss, sitting bewildered on a Lazy Boy in front of the TV with a beer stein, hoping for the stray re-run. While my petition to revive the show have sadly fallen on deaf ears, this Father's Day you can treat your dad to a gathering which is sure to awaken every stereotypical bone in his body. This weekend, Drake's Brewing is throwing a Dad's Day party for the ages. In addition to their typically stellar tap lineup, the brewery will be releasing Father Knows Best, a blended, bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with espresso, served from a cask.
The first five people to bring their father to the event will land a free pint for Pop. The person who shares the best photo of themselves with their father (bonus points if it's beer related) will win a full growler of Drake's brew. Add in pizza from Fists of Flour, and Dad will have everything he needs in one place. Take him on a field trip to Home Depot on the way home, and you'll be his favorite child in no time flat.

Now that Dad has a taste for the good stuff, he'll likely want to return to Drake's to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of their acclaimed Barrel House. The weekend following Father's Day, the Barrel House celebrates one year by loading the taps with Drake's brew and releasing their DBH Anniversary Sour - a cabernet barrel-aged Belgian single. Local band Clangin' and Bangin' will rock the barrel house from 6-9pm, and the Yumsilog food truck will dish up Filipino grub. If that's not a romantic anniversary celebration, then we don't know what is.
