Dear Mom Hosts Sous Beurre Kitchen in June

Because he apparently wants no free time this month, chef Michael Mauschbaugh has added a seventh night of service to his rustic French pop-up Sous Beurre Kitchen. In addition to the regular Tuesday-Sunday schedule at Sugarlump Coffee Lounge, Sous Beurre can be found on Monday nights in June from 5-11 p.m. at Dear Mom. Snacks and entrees run $5-12.

Former SF Weekly food critic Jonathan Kauffman visited Sous Beurre Kitchen at the Sugarlump Cafe in February. He concluded that he was "hard-pressed to think of another San Francisco café with such assured food."

While the menu changes weekly at Dear Mom, last week's dinner included the return of the pan-fried and truffled gnocchi that Kauffman said could get him through any work day. We agree to the potential day-transforming powers of this dish and hope it makes regular appearances here and when Mauschbaugh eventually opens his own permanent restaurant space.
