Where: Pal's Takeaway (located inside Tony's Market) on 24th Street

The Rundown: Pal's Takeaway is rolling out the big subs for a third year anniversary party. For the occasion, original Pal's chef Dave Knopp is dusting off his coffee-rubbed pulled pork sandwich which has been missing from Pal's for more than a year. Also, Comstock chef Carlo Espinas will unveil a special sandwich surprise on Friday.
And since no sandwich is complete with excellent bread, Acme Bread is baking a unique Pal's Weck Roll for the sandwichstanza.

| Lao sausage sandwich from Pal's Takeaway voted SF's best sandwich by SFoodie. |
Pal's has been around for three years and is making three promises to their devoted sandwich lovers:
- Starting May 1, Pal's hours are extended from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- The sandwich shop will open on Saturdays for weekend sandwichry
- Pal's owner and chef, Jeff Mason, is writing a cookbook for Pal lovers dying to make their favorite Pal's creations at home, complete with music pairing. Keep your eye out for Pal's Sandwich Construction Manual. No word if Pal's TV dinner recipes will be included.
One more surprise for the third anniversary-- Mason says Lady Gaga will be handing out the sandwiches. He's kidding, but who knows-- Gaga has plenty of reasons to hang out on 24th Street.
