Burritt Tavern, Fork, and Mediterranean Cafe Open, Marbella Readies

Categories: Buzz Machine
The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Openings: Charlie Palmer's latest project, the Burritt Tavern, officially opens today (417 Stockton at Sutter). Grub Street shares a peek at the American menu that will usher in the first dinner service.

Another, more casual, American eatery is also opening today. Eater SF discovers Fork, the long awaited replacement to the Castro's shuttered Fuzio is dishing fare for all three meals of the day (469 Castro at 18th St.).

And yet, another restaurant is open -- this one in the foggy reaches of the Sunset District. Eater SF notes Mediterranean Cafe (originally called Falafel Jumanh) is serving up the deep-fried chickpea patties, with the works, at their small spot (3848 Judah at 43rd Ave.).

Readying: Marbella, the Spanish restaurant slated for Polk Street is on track to open April 18, according to Eater SF and Grub Street. Expect tapas, small-medium plates (for sharing!), and paella.
