Parallel 37 Opens, Trident Will Return, and Citizen Cake Set to Shutter

Ron Siegel's new restaurant Parallel 37 opens today as a sleeker, more modern replacement to its predecessor (600 Stockton at Pine). Earlier we mentioned bar manager Camber Lay would oversee the cocktail program, as Siegel focuses on contemporary American cuisine.
Across the bay, Sausalito will welcome the return of Trident -- yes, the popular 60's and 70's restaurant. Just in time for America's Cup, Eater SF reports the current Horizon's restaurant will shutter, and owners, Ron Davis and Bob Freeman, will transform the space. Expect a new waterside balcony and menu from former Michael Mina sous chef James Montejano in 2012. Beyond the moniker, we're not sure if any of the Trident's old glory days will reemerge in the space -- we never thought 60's rockers were the yachting type.
After Orson transformed from an American restaurant into an event space, all eyes turned to Elizabeth Falkner's other restaurant: Citizen Cake Ice Cream Parlor & Eats. But alas, Inside Scoop reveals that due to a few financial issues, Falkner will shutter the sweet-focused restaurant before the end of the year. Both Orson and Citizen Cake are now on market. No word yet on Falkner's future restaurant plans -- or if she'll stay in S.F.
Moving: Dottie's True Blue Cafe will shutter for its move Dec. 24. Grub Street notes the opening date in the new Sixth Street location is still pending. They also have the scoop on the Marina outpost of Pizza Orgasmica's plan to expand by moving down the street to the current Osome space. No word yet on when Osome will cease it's sushi-delivery operations or the move date.

A salumeria is moving in next door to North Beach's Trattoria Pinocchio. Eater SF reveals the shop is slated to open in about two weeks, and will offer prepared foods, paninis, and hard-to-find Italian imports, which may finally make it possible to make meatballs just like nonna's.
Eater SF also learns, via a reader, that City Chopsticks has moved into the former Asuka Ramen space. The casual, Chinese restaurant is slated to open tomorrow.
