The Jalisco Cobbler Radiates Summer Sun
We'll admit that we're cocktail nerds--er, connoisseurs--and while we readily enjoy nuanced and complex cocktails, we most appreciate the kinds of drinks that find the balance of accessibility with an interesting twist. Joel Teitelbaum's Jalisco Cobbler ($12) at the newly renovated Starlight Room is that kind of drink.
Lou Bustamante Missed summer? Have it by the glass in the Jalisco Cobbler.
By building on the classic cobbler (a traditional mixture of alcohol, sugar, and fruit) and adding a lightly spiced homemade black pepper syrup, it adds tingle to the palate without numbing it. The finale of fresh strawberries get crushed then mixed with a reposado tequila, lime, bitters, and the black pepper syrup, that tastes like the last lingering moments of Indian summer.
