Tea Lover and Thai Idea Open, Stow Lake's New Café, and John Campbell's Bakery Back to One
The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.
Over the weekend we spotted Tea Lover (544 Clement at Seventh Ave.), a new boba spot in the Inner Richmond. We weren't surprised the place had a line Sunday afternoon -- the city loves bubble tea. It was just last week we mentioned Boba Guys, two fellas chronicling the process of opening a bubble tea shop in the Mission. Will we ever get enough tapioca beads and milk tea?

Over near Civic Center there's a new Thai restaurant, and this one's a little different from the rest. The Tender shares Thai Idea features an all-vegan and vegetarian menu hovering below the $10 mark (710 Polk at Eddy).
Golden Gate Park's duck pond Stow Lake boat house is readying for some major changes with the arrival of new vendors. Richmond Blog SF reports, via Eater SF, the café is set to open Thursday with new indoor seating for 30+, and a menu from the Fish & Farm: FK Restaurants team.
And then there was one: John Campbell's Irish Bakery expanded across the city last year, bringing Irish soda bread to Potrero Hill and Cow Hollow, but alas both satellite locations have closed (Potrero earlier this year and Cow Hollow last month). Inside Scoop reports that if looking for their hot crossed buns, it'll mean a trek out to their original location 5625 Geary (at 21st Ave.).
