Wicked Grounds Shutters and Lotus Garden is Back from the Brink

No more grilled cheeses with a side of erotica or coffee served in dog bowls. LiveSOMA reports Wicked Grounds closed on Wednesday after they failed to raise the necessary funds to keep the doors open. For the last six months the cafe received various donations to keep them in operation, but, alas, it just wasn't enough.

After a Mission fire displaced Lotus Garden in April, we weren't sure they'd return. But today, Bernalwood trumpets the triumphant news that the Vietnamese restaurant is slated to reopen on Oct. 18.

Adios Herbert's Mexican Grill. Eater SF notes the Union Square restaurant has rolled up its burrito business.

The latest restaurant slated for the Valencia corridor is Lot 7, a casual seafood restaurant complete with raw bar. According to Inside Scoop, owner Hani Desouky has hired James Montejano (Michael Mina, Aqua) as executive chef. Don't worry, all seafood will be sourced in accordance with the Monterey Seafood Watch. Look for an opening in mid November.
