Range Line Cook Brings New Pop-Up to Inner Richmond Market
There's a new pop-up coming to town! I think this might be a trend, you guys? This time it's from chef Katherine Bayle, who is currently a line cook at Range. She'll debut her FarmSpun Dinners pop-up at Village Market in the Inner Richmond on Thursday, Oct. 13. ![]()
Wes M./Yelp Adorable Village Market.
Bayle says the idea for FarmSpun was inspired by her time on organic farms in California and Europe, and the dinners created and shared from their harvests. She's especially fond of Free Wheelin' Farm near Santa Cruz, and her menu revolves around their produce.
Why Village Market? Because Bayle's a fan. She says,
I have been a long time fan of Village Market. I live in the neighborhood and have shopped there for years. I chose to have it there because it has the feeling of community I wanted for my dinners and all the folks working there are also supportive of organic farming and great food.
Although a market doesn't seem like the obvious choice for a pop-up, Bayle says they'll set up several tables in the the front of the market, and there will be slightly communal seating. Making new friends!
With help from the market and her friends, Bayle hopes the dinners will become a monthly affair. The menu for her first dinner will include Broccoli & Leek soup, Risotto Croquettes, Braised Pork Shoulder and ending with Italian Wine Cookies with Poached Fruit. She hopes to add vegetarian and vegan options in the future. Woo!
