The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

We're not sure who would be the type to steal garden veggies, but Bernalwood shares that someone is raiding the community garden. We assume the culprit has eaten the evidence.

New chefs in the kitchen: Quince and Cotogna's new pastry chef is Devin McDavid. Inside Scoop reports McDavid joins chef Michael Tusk in the kitchen after a stint as the pastry chef de partie at the French Laundry. Grub Street shares, via Bite Club, chef Adam Mali is making the move from Pt. Reyes' Nick's Cove to the city's MarketBar.

Gain one, lose one: Late last month the Financial District's Ramen Underground opened, but today Eater SF shares that the Tenderloin's three-year-old Asuka Ramen has shuttered.

Our own Jonathan Kauffman reports the Sunset's Vietnamese-Cajun restaurant SJ Crawfish has closed. In its place will be a Rice Valley mooncake popup -- opening tomorrow (2333 Irving at 24th Ave.).

And Tablehopper reminds us today's the first day to start ogling over sweets at the Pastry Cupboard's storefront (1596 Market St. at Franklin).
