The Rundown: Not only has the St. Anthony Foundation served over 37 million meals to those in need since 1950, they're serving up another 10,000 in one day -- at their birthday block party.
The event kicks off with a Rally for Hope at City Hall, where they plan to unveil personal messages of hope, before moving down the street to the party's 2,500 pounds of potato salad and 8,000 pounds of chicken. The food-filled, six-decade celebration is just a post along their continued mission milestones of providing services (meals, clothing, health care) to those on the fringes of poverty. Next July, they'll break ground on a new, LEED-certified dining room, which will accommodate the increase in demand for their services. Cheers to a golden pillar of the community, their volunteers, and another 60 years!
