Where: Ferry Building
When: Wednesday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Cost: Free!
Scream Sorbet is a favorite of farmers' market denizens throughout the Bay Area, and on Sept. 7, you can get it free.
The Cooking Channel's ice cream truck will make a stop on its national tour to provide SF foodies "a scoop or two of Scream Sorbet."
At the Palo Alto farmers' market last weekend, Scream was selling out of flavors at $3 for a single scoop and $5 for a double, so this one's worth walking to. The truck is scheduled to be on the south side of the Ferry Building from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nathan Kurz, the owner of Scream, tells me they'll be scooping seascape strawberry, pistachio, and "a melon to be determined as soon as we know what's going to be in season that week."
He did the event last year and says, "Reactions are great. Everyone loves free sorbet." Don't tell anyone, there might be a line.
