Free Baking Lessons With Scharffen Berger Chocolate
Scharffen Berger is hosting two free baking lessons Saturday, Oct. 8 which use chocolate -- surprise! -- to teach you how to "elevate a classic dessert with Scharffen Berger."

Yes, your grandmother's dessert recipe may wholly deserve the title "classic," but it can always get better. Watch and learn. Spoiler alert: these sound so indulgent, even reading the dish descriptions might leave you with a toothache.
From 4:30-5:30 p.m., chef Alice Medrich heads to the trendy-because-it's-really-tasty combination of chocolate and spice, concocting a chocolate cream pie (with, we assume, S.B. chocolate) with cinnamon and ancho chile.
The act that follows -- Elizabeth Falkner, the chef and owner of Citizen Cake and Orson Restaurant -- goes for a double hit: chocolate gelato sundae with chocolate cake crumbles... and marshmallow cream. Huh. Perhaps some classics don't need elevating. Falkner's class runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Both lessons are set for Saturday, October 8, at CUESA kitchen in the Ferry Building marketplace. Reserve your free spot by emailing ScharffenBergerRSVP@rfbinder.com, or call 855-601-1902.
