Elizabeth Falkner's Iron Chef Run and Ice Cream Making, and a Moving Farm

Chef Elizabeth Falkner (Citizen Cake and Orson) will flambé, sauté, and chop her way through the Food Network's Next Iron Chef: Super Chef. Eater SF reports the battle starts Oct. 30. And while that's great, we're just as excited about Falkner's announcement, via Twitter, that Citizen Cake will start making ice cream this Wednesday. Earlier we mentioned the change in name (Elizabeth Falkner's Citizen Cake Ice Cream Parlor and Eats) and the lighter-hearted and more fun direction for the cake (and now ice cream) restaurant.
Hayes Valley's Farm -- plants, bees, and all -- will have to move. The Examiner reports the two-year-old farm on the plot of land where the Central Freeway on/off ramp was located (pre-1989's Loma Prieta earthquake) will have to vacate for a condo project. The farm is currently looking for a new space, and will leave its current plot on Laguna (at Fell) by February.
Changes in the kitchen: Inside Scoop reports that after 10 years with the Boulevard and Prospect team, chef Ravi Kapur is heading out to spend more time with his family. Both restaurants will remain relatively unchanged for the time being.
