Bay Area Distillers Panel Discussion
Where: The Boothby Center, 1161 Mission (at 8th)
When: 3-5 p.m.
Cost: $25 in advance; $35 at the door
The rundown: A discussion of artisan distillation with three of the Bay Area's best distillers: Marko Karakacevic of Charbay, Lance Winters of St. George Spirits and Arne Hillesland of No. 209 Gin. They'll offer insight into the small batch distillation process, the spirits business, and how they see the landscape changing. Oh yes, there will be drinking.
Understanding the Heart of Tequila (with a Real Agave Farmer)
Where: The Boothby Center, 1161 Mission (at 8th)
When: 6-8 p.m.
Cost: $25 in advance; $35 at the door
The rundown: Learn all about Tequila with a live demonstration of how a jimador (agave harvester) breaks down an agave plant in the field. Naturally, the cocktails feature Tequila.

Opening Night Party: Anchor Around the World
Where: Anchor Brewing Co., 1705 Mariposa (at De Haro)
When: 6-9 p.m.
Cost: Sold out (was $45)
The rundown: Cocktails and the full Anchor portfolio will be available for tasting, along with opportunities to chat and mingle with the producers.
Bar Crawl with Charbay and the Perfect Puree of Napa Valley
Where: Rye, Cantina, Clock Bar, Otis Lounge, Rickhouse
When: 5-8 p.m.
Cost: Sold out (was $45)
The rundown: Marko Karakasevic of Charbay leads a five-bar tour, with a full-size cocktail at each, starting at Rye and ending with you on the floor at Rickhouse. That is, if you bought a ticket already. If not, there's always tomorrow, with another full schedule of events.
