Chef Dream Team Convenes for Annual Sunday Supper
CUESA's Ninth Annual Sunday Supper
CUESA
When: Sunday, Oct. 2, 6-9:30 p.m.
Where: 1 Ferry Building (at Embarcadero)
Cost: $200, tickets here.
The Rundown: Like Knights of the Round Table, CUESA's Sunday Supper brings together some of the finest in their field. Bay Area chefs will prepare the annual dinner for their foodie guests to enjoy at a communal table.
The list of 27 chefs is awesome. We'll just name five: Jason Fox (Commonwealth), Brandon Jew (Bar Agricole), Melissa Perello (Frances), Michelle Polzine (Range), Staffan Terje (Perbacco). And we left out some of our favorite chefs in the city (sorry).
The night starts with a reception featuring Ferry Building tenants Cowgirl Creamery and Boccalone, as well as St. George Spirits, and wine; in attendance will be everyone's favorite local-food junkie Michael Pollan.
Following the appetizers, six teams of chefs will highlight their talents through a four-course meal, which will include a tableside whole-animal carving (vegetarian meals provided upon request). A guest sommelier will pair drinks with each menu. But unlike King Arthur's court, the night will end with an auction and not a sword fight. But who knows, auctions can become pretty heated.
