Family Winemakers Show Offers More Wine Than You Can Handle
Family Winemakers of California Tasting
Foodgal.com
Where: Fort Mason Center
When: Sunday, Aug. 21, 3-6 p.m.
Cost: $65 advance, $75 at the door
We can drink a lot of wine, but we find the Family Winemakers of California annual tasting overwhelming, in a good way. There's always about 50 times more wine there than we can get to, and that's just counting wines we really want to taste.
Put it this way: We were going to count the wineries that will be pouring samples from the list on the organization's website. We reached 100 -- and we're still in the G's. So "hundreds of wineries" will be pouring.
Moreover, wineries from all price levels will be there. You can taste $150 Cabernets or $10 red blends. You can taste all Pinot Noir, only white Alsatian varieties, whatever. Did we mention that it's overwhelming? But one thing is for sure: you won't leave thirsty. Or, unless you spit (which we highly recommend), sober.
Buy tickets here. You'll recognize us by the confused look on our face.
