The Week in Drinks: a Roundup of Boozy Events
The sun is mostly out, summer is winding down, and it's a perfect time to get your drink on in a very boozy week. Here's our list of where to go:

Distillery No. 209 Tour
Where: Distillery No. 209, Pier 50 #B

The rundown: Distillery No. 209 is once again is opening its doors for its monthly tour and tastings in its amazing bayfront facility. Distiller Arne Hillesland will lead you through the ins and outs of gin production. Each month highlights a different bartender and drinks using No. 209 gin at the end of the tour.
The rundown: Watch eight bartenders compete to see who can make the best cocktail using Bloom Gin. Cheer on your favorites from Orson, Bubble Lounge, Zero Zero, DOSA, Brixton, and upcoming Hops and Hominy. The best part is that you get to taste too.
The rundown: Drink Me Magazine is hosting a party at Forbes Island, the kitschy and surreal floating restaurant built to look like an island with palm trees and lighthouse. Enjoy rum, drinks, and a boat ride to and from Forbes from Pier 39. Look out for the smoke monster.
The rundown: Scott Beattie's cocktail class series returns this weekend to the Ferry Building with a focus on agave spirits with special guest Eric Rubin of Tres Agaves Tequila. A hands-on session making and drinking an Añejo Old Fashioned, Mexican Manhattan, Smokey Paloma, Watermelon Cooler, Spicy Bloody Mary, Cucumber-Jicama-Tomato Margarita, Radish-Cucumber-Cilantro Margarita, and the good ol' classic Margarita.
Savoy Cocktail Night at Alembic
Where: The Alembic, 1725 Haight (at Cole)
When: Sun., July 31, 6 p.m.-2 a.m.
Cost: $10 per drink; 21 and over
The rundown: Savoy Cocktail night returns Sunday night to the Alembic in the Upper Haight. Once a month, the normal cocktail menu is replaced with copies of the Savoy Cocktail book, an 800-recipe tome from the 1930s. You'll flip, or smash. Or maybe fizz.
Guest Bartender Night: Jim Kearns from Brooklyn's Prime Meats
When: Beretta on Tue., Aug. 2, 5:30 p.m.-1 a.m.; Delarosa on Weds., Aug. 3, 5:30 p.m.-1 a.m.

The rundown: The guest bartender series at Beretta continues and starts at sister Delarosa with barman Jim Kearns of N.Y.C.'s celebrated Prime Meats. Featured on the menu will be some New York stylings like the Pavo Salvaje (rye, jalepeño-infused tequila, mole bitters, sugar), Strawberry Huckster (gin, lime, campari, elderflower, strawberries, cilantro), and American Highball (amaro, bourbon, soda, orange).
