The Rundown: Joanne Weir, local celebrity chef and host of PBS television series Joanne Weir's Cooking Class, is teaming up with bartenders Ronaldo Colli from Americano and H. Joseph Ehrmann from Elixir to bring us an evening of tequila-based food and drinks. Caliente! Weir will teach students to make chorizo hand-pies, guacamole soup, smoked trout, and tequila quesadillas with summer's tomato salsa, bay scallop ceviche. The cocktail menu features two cocktails using Jose Cuervo Platino Tequila (about $55/750ml bottle), which is quite tasty despite coming from such a large producer. It'll be a great event for those wanting to eat and drink their tequila -- yeah, that's us! The class includes a signed copy of Weir's tequila tome, Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails, and Bites so you can re-create the magic at home.
