Rum, Ahoy: Bar Adagio's Cocktail College Goes Pirate-Themed Tonight

The rundown: Tonight's Bar Adagio's Cocktail College, the popular series held on the second Thursday of the month, features the tasty Dominican Republic spirit Brugal rum. This month's theme is pirates (arrrr), so bust out your buccaneering best!​ A quick discussion about Brugal rum, including its production and history, will be followed by a cocktail demo with bar manager Kristin Almy. She'll discuss and mix three drinks: one classic and two original creations, including one made with pickled honeydew melon. Exotic!

The hands-on portion of the class includes making the cocktails with help from Almy and her staff. Don't forget this was voted one of the best places to learn to mix your own drinks, so you're learning from -- and drinking with -- the best.
