Dine with Famous Dead Folks at the Contemporary Jewish Museum

When: Thursday, June 2, 7-9 p.m.; Sunday, June 5, 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

The rundown: We had to read the event description three times to begin to understand what's happening. And we're still not totally sure, but from what we gather, it sounds fairly fresh. The gist: Two young creative types with roots at McSweeney's (where else!) are putting on a dinner theater piece that will explore fictional relationships among dead famous people at a dinner party. While they're pondering what Michael Jackson might have said to Glenn Gould (drama!), they'll serve up a meal for all to share. Since the dead people are all dead, we're assuming the audience (that's you!) will get most of the grub. Who knows; only time will tell. It's like Tony and Tina's Wedding but for fancy, smart people. Kinda. We'll be disappointed if Virginia Woolf and Gertrude Stein don't break latkes over the direction of modern feminism and, more importantly, the most flattering length for a caftan.
