1. Carina Ost dredged the internet and pulled up 10 sopping, putrid celebrity cookbooks. Now that food has become the new rock, expect the System of a Down cupcake guide sometime soon.
2. Luis Chong continues to monitor San Francisco's ramen scene. This week, he samples the tonkotsu ramen at the new Ramen Doraku in Parkside.
3. We finally wrapped up the SFoodie's 92 with a few of our favorite places: Mission Chinese Food, Il Cane Rosso, and Cafe Jacqueline. You can find the full list of our 92 favorite dishes (this year) at the end of dish number 1, BBQ pork buns from Cafe Bakery.
4. I've been depressed all week about the departure of SFoodie editor John Birdsall, whose last day is today. I've been a fan of John's since we were reviewing restaurants for competitor newspapers, me at the East Bay Express and he at the Contra Costa Times. What a pleasure it has been to work with him for the past 17 months -- he's whip-smart, dedicated, a phenomenal writer, and an insightful chronicler of the SF street food movement. Thankfully, he's assembled a group of contributors that I'm thrilled to share the blog with, and I'm looking forward to following his byline as he takes on new writing projects.
