Where: La Victoria Mexican Bakery and Cafe, 2937 24th St. (at Alabama), 642-7120; Pal's Takeaway, 2751 24th St. (at Hampshire), 203-4911

When: Sun., May 8, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

The rundown: For Sunday Streets' Mission edition, a couple of our favorite spots are hawking food to fuel your roller-disco dance of self-expression down a Camry-free 24th Street. At La Victoria, Les Elements Patisserie's Luis Villavelazquez says he's planning to sell a few sweets impervious to melting; Wholesome Bakery and Good Foods Catering are also planning to set up on the sidewalk, starting at about 11 a.m. Plus there'll be a DJ on site, piping out tunes to the street till 5 p.m. A few blocks away at Pal's Takeaway, owner Jeff Mason plans to sell pulled-pork sliders, alongside Jesse Friedman of Soda Craft, pouring his artisan ginger ale and orange fennel soda. Stand in the middle of the street and drink deep, friend. Just because you can.
