The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Another goodbye to a long-standing neighborhood institution: Grub Street reports the shuttering of Al's Café Good Food. After 50 years, the Bernal Heights' diner closed in April; on Facebook, owner Jean Joseph and her sister Joanne called it a "bittersweet goodbye." A new restaurant and management team will be moving into the space.

Via UrbanDaddy, Grub Street gives an opening date for Tacko (3115 Fillmore at Filbert). The Nantucket-slash-Mexican taco shop from Nick Fasanella (Nick's Crispy Tacos and Taco Shop at Underdogs) is priming to open next Thursday. Expect the usual Nick favorites, along with East Coast-influenced seafood dishes.

Finally, yet another farewell: Eater shares (via MrEricSir) that Bangkok 16 has closed after 23 years in the Mission.
