The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Tasting Table spots what appears to be the Bay Area's humblest-looking lunch cart, but with the fanciest of pedigrees: Porky's from Daniel Patterson. Decorated with pigs, the Uptown Oakland cart serves only one item, a $9 porchetta sandwich. TT asserts that it is an amazing sandwich.

Tablehopper reports two newcomers: The second container to open in the Hayes Valley Proxy series, Ritual Roasters, opening Saturday. That should add a nice caffeine buzz to Proxy's sugar high.

And after Tablehopper broke the news that Mirtille (French for "blueberry") was set to open soon, Eater confirms that the launch happened today. The very purple Tenderlion cafe (87 McAllister at Leavenworth) is focusing on seasonal and local fare, with a small selection of pastries and espresso drinks.

The sign that LiveSOMA spotted at Passion Cafe is indeed a for-rent sign. Via C.W. Nevius, Inside Scoop reports the owner is calling it quits after the robbery that left him with 20 stitches (the perpetrator is behind bars). The owner hopes his successor will open another French cafe in the site.

Also from Scoop, Manresa reopens tonight, with a new bar and dining room. And Ella's, the popular Laurel Heights brunch spot, begins serving dinner tonight.

Next! 7X7 reports the Original Soup Man, (yes, the one that inspired the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld), will open its first West Coast restaurant tomorrow in Fisherman's Wharf (79 Jefferson at Mason). No word yet on the ordering process.

The Feast reports the changing facade of Paulette's Macarons, which is now touting organics along with a new moniker: Chantal Gallion. Also, The Feast shares a hard-hat tour of NOLA-influenced Boxing Room, set to open in Hayes Valley in May June.

And from Eater, three far-off openings: Amber Dara, Lite Bite, and the second location of Bi-Rite Market. No word on specific opening dates, though late summer/early fall is likely for all three.
