The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Update: Free cupcake day has been moved to June 5.

A sweet opening for Let's Cupcake (2255 Judah at 28th Ave.). The Feast reports the Sunset cupcake shop is celebrating its pre-opening by offering a free cupcake to those who stop by today (11 a.m.-9 p.m.). The shop will serve as more than a sugary stop -- it plans to incorporate live music, art, and coffee into its space.

Eater SF
shares a look inside Txoko (504 Broadway at Kearny), which opens tonight. The Basque-style gastropub from Ryan Maxey and Ian Begg features the ever-popular communal table, art by Jeremy Fish, and a menu of bar bites to large plates. Here's our take.

On the bar front: Haighteration gives a sneak peek at Churchill, set to open this Wednesday in the former Bar on Church space. While Grub Street reports Union Square's the Hidden Vine wine bar will shutter to reopen as another wine bar, the Barrel Room.

As SFoodie reported earlier this year, Specialty's at China Basin closed when the cafe and landlord could not come to an agreement over the terms of a new lease. In its place came the second location of Focaccia Market & Bakery (185 Berry at Third St.). Now, LiveSOMA gives a look at the temporary Focaccia space next to the official storefront. The cafe is serving a limited menu until its grand opening this fall.

From Inside Scoop: Takoyanen, the street food spinoff from the Ferry Building's Delica, started selling octopus balls at the Thursday Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market, and 1015 Clay has soft-opened in Oakland. From the Chop Bar folks, 1015 is serving only weekday lunch and Friday happy hour to begin. They won't be revealing the restaurant's true name until they have rebranded and are fully functional.

Another switch up: The awning over what was supposed to be an Italian bakery has disappeared. Mission Mission reports a sign for a pending self-serve restaurant, Juntos Club, in its place.
