The past 24 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco food scene.

Eater SF notes two drink-inspired restaurant openings: Another new wine bar in Rockridge, Toast (5900 College at Chabot), has officially launched today. Owners Heither Sittig and Kristin Policy, first-time restaurateurs, are featuring international wines and local fare. In the Sunset, the owners of Lavash opened Rose Tea (511 Irving at Seventh Ave.) yesterday. As the name implies, they are serving teas and tisanes alongside sweets and savory dishes. A beer and wine permit is pending.

Grub Street reports that Bar Tartine (561 Valencia at 16th St.) has shut its doors until April 30. What gives? Renovations? Menu changes from new chef Nick Balla? No, a not-so-obvious cause: a bread oven. The restaurant has to reinforce the floor that will sit below the heavy oven at the bakery Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt are installing next door.

Inside Scoop gives word that chef Mateo Granados has found a home in Healdsburg. After bouncing from kitchen to kitchen, including S.F.'s Masa's and Rubicon, he's opening a Latin American restaurant this July in a space just south of the city's downtown plaza.
