The rundown: Nothing like 80-degree days to make you want to crank up the oven and bake. No worries, this weather won't last, and the lessons you gain tomorrow have no expiration date. At a free Macy's event, Alan Carter, pastry chef at Mission Beach Café, will reveal his techniques for rolling out a pie crust, prior to unmasking his "favorite pastry recipe" (we're hoping pot pie counts as a pastry.) Carter will also give samples of seasonal spring pies; we imagine he'll toss chunks from a bucket like a seal trainer.
