No spot for vanilla pot de creme?
Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen Passover Seder

Where: Coffee Bar, 1890 Bryant (at Mariposa), 551-8100

When: Mon., April 18, 6:30 p.m. (Tuesday seder is sold out)

Cost: $45, $65 with wine pairings

The rundown: If San Francisco can have pop-up ramen, pop-up pizza, and pop-up sushi, why not pop-up Passover? Monday night at Coffee Bar (Tuesday is already sold out), Wise Sons' Evan Bloom and Leo Beckerman are putting their own spin on the seder plate. They'll add a radicchio salad with shaved farm egg and vanilla pot de creme with macerated strawberries to the usual Passover fare (matzo ball soup, gefilte fish, brisket). Wise Sons' vaunted Hillel sandwich is on the menu, though built with house-made matzo and a charoset of organic diced apples, dried fruit, cinnamon, and sweet wine. Perhaps we'll see a seder truck for Passover 2012?
