Langdon Cook.
Langdon Cook, author of Fat of the Land: Adventures of a 21st Century Forager, is an accidental food writer, an outdoorsman who started out writing for fishing and hunting magazines. But he began blogging about his experiments cooking the greens, mushrooms, and animals he brought back from his outings, and the blog eventually became a book -- an adventure story with recipes.

Cook writes about hunting down porcini in the Cascades, dodging bears while gathering huckleberries, and going spearfishing for lingcod. Tonight, touring the paperback release of Fat of the Land, he reads at Omnivore Books, where you can pester him for tips on digging for razor clams and picking nonlethal species of amanita mushrooms.
