Cako Reopens in Japantown, Once Again Dispenses Cuteness

Tamara Palmer
Don't panic, San Francisco: Yet another cupcake emporium is now open. The second location of Cako Bakery originally opened in Japantown in late February, underwent a little renovation in March, and is now reliably dispensing cuteness, if not kickass flavor. Cako seems unusually skewed towards chocolate at the moment; it's the base for most of the varieties we tried recently, including caramel, cookies and cream, and s'mores. The best bet? Mini-cupcakes for $1.50.

Cako Bakery: 1737 Post Street (at Webster), 567-5130.

You can never have too much chocolate. All the flavors mentioned go great with chocolate. Is it really kickass, for real? Gotta add them to my bakery bucket list. Thanks for that tip.
