Japan Meets Ireland in a Cocktail Shaker for Quake Relief
Where: Burritt Room, 417 Stockton (at Sutter), inside the Crescent Hotel
When: Thu., Mar. 17, 8 p.m.-midnight
Cost: Voluntary Red Cross donation at the door
The rundown: What happens when you combine a national U.S. Bartenders' Guild conference in town, one of the biggest drinking holidays (we're looking at you, St. Patrick), and a desire to help relief efforts in Japan? You get Land of the Rising Shamrock, an Irish- and Japanese-styled event, with all cocktail proceeds going to the Red Cross. Bartenders will be put to work, as guests from New York (Jason Littrell of Death and Co. and Hal Wolin from El Cobre) and Chicago (Debbi Peek from the Bristol), join Aaron Gregory Smith from our very own 15 Romolo to mix up cocktails with Michael Collins Irish whiskey and Gekkeikan sake. Drinking and doing good at the same time? Way better than finding a four-leaf clover.
