Wreck Room to Open Someday, Mysterious Changes Afoot at Katz

The gossip scene is so devoid of big openings and closures that Buzz Machine is feeling a little like a high school newspaper today:
Eater SF learns that the new name of the bar on the site of the old Nob Hill Tavern will be Wreck Room (1390 California) and that it will have a pool table. The opening date: still unknown. UPDATE: It's opening Wednesday.
Last week, SFoodie posted that The Galley is now serving food at Clooney's Irish Pub (1401 Valencia). The pitch: sandwiches such as grilled PBJ with homemade jam, beef tongue, and beef with braised onions.
Haighteration observes signage changes at Katz and worries: What does it all mean? We don't know, H. We don't know.
