Tonight: Paris on the Tongue
Elizabeth Bard and Lunch in Paris: A Love Story![]()
Gil Riego Jr./SFoodie
Where: Omnivore Books, 3885a Cesar Chavez (at Church), 282-4712
When: 6-7 p.m.
Cost: Free
The rundown: SFoodie overheard some flashy types at Sunday's Stag Dining event, boo-hooing about not getting to visit France this year (among other first-world woes). Despondent Francophiles, fret no longer. Tonight is your chance to drink Parisian cocktails, eat Carambar, and live vicariously through someone else's French love affair. And it's all free! Omnivore Books is hosting Elizabeth Bard, author of the airy food memoir Lunch in Paris: A Love Story, to discuss her experiences smooching and snacking in France. Though this kind of talk may provoke high levels of jealousy (if not spite), the caramels and cocktails should make it an easier pill to swallow.
