The rundown: Never heard of her? Pity. Niloufer Ichaporia King is the behind-the-scenes bubbe of Bay Area Parsi cooking, a source of inspiration for Foreign Cinema's Gayle Pirie and John Clark, Hayes Street Grill's Patty Unterman, and above all Alice. In fact, every spring ― for Parsi New Year ― King orchestrates a holiday dinner at Chez Panisse more exclusive than a seat at Willie's table at Le Central. No, SFoodie's never been; you've never been. You can, however, catch a whiff of cumin-scented magic when King appears at Omnivore Saturday afternoon.
