Homeroom's Opening, Sol Food Starts a Takeout Biz, Bissap Baobab to Become Bullitt II
Tablehopper reports that the Tonic/Bullitt owners are taking over Bissap Baobab (2323 Mission) sometime in the next few months ― they'll be doing a quick remodel and reopening as another branch of Bullitt. The pitch: stiff drinks, easy food, which is no reflection on the customers, of course. [UPDATE: Apparently there are few possible names in play.]
Also from Tablehopper comes news that Sol Food, the crazily popular Puerto Rican restaurant in Marin, has just opened Sol Food La Bodega (903 Lincoln Blvd., San Rafael, 451-4765) next door. La Bodega will handle the restaurant's takeout business and add roast chickens and ribs.
Mission Mission reveals that the old DeLano's on S. Van Ness, which was reported to be on its way to becoming a Fresh and Easy, is actually the subject of a bidding war. The other bidder: Grocery Outlet.
- Starting on Feb. 13, Citizen's Band is adding Sunday brunch and dinner to its menu.
- Orson is adding Sunday-night service, which features a build-your-own pizza and a build-your-own burger. Now where have we heard of that concept before?
- Adesso is now serving sandwiches at lunch, Mondays through Saturdays.
