Wednesday, Feb. 16

Drake's Sau and Brau Dinner
Where: Drake's Brewing Co., 1933 Davis (at Phillips), #177, San Leandro
When: 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $40; tickets at the Drake's website
What: The event starts with a happy hour of Drake's flagship selections, poured fresh at the brewery. Then, a pig roast dinner with sides and salads is paired with four specially selected barrel-aged beers and another two barrel-aged sour beers with dessert. Result: barrel-aged hog heaven.

Thursday, Feb. 17

Second Annual Magnolia and Nombe Paired Dinner
Where: Nombe Izakaya, 2491 Mission (at 21st St.), 681-7150
When: 6-11 p.m.
Cost: $45
What: Four Magnolia beers, including the new Rye Rye Rocco strong ale paired with small plates from the Nombe kitchen, under new chef Vincent Schofield. For dessert, try Humphry Slocombe's Magnolia Smokestack Lightning Stout ice cream.

Friday, Feb. 18

Anderson Valley Beer Dinner at Anchor and Hope
Where: Anchor and Hope, 83 Minna (at Second St.), 501-9100
When: 6-8:30 p.m.
Cost: $60
What: Five local Anderson Valley beers, including the brand new Weech Gee Ale, paired with a four-course tasting menu featuring salmon "pastrami," crispy pork belly, rock cod, short rib, and more. Rub elbows with the owner and brewmaster of Anderson Valley Brewing Co., and maybe they'll invite you to play Frisbee golf at their brewery oasis.

Saturday, Feb. 19

Pre-Barleywine Festival Sausage and Beer Brunch
Where: Magnolia Pub, 1398 Haight (at Masonic), 864-7468
When: 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Cost: Dishes priced a la carte
What: Three brunch specials revolving around specially created house-made sausages - a crucial base to lay down before the madness of Toronado's Barleywine fest.

Sunday, Feb. 20

Beer and Cheese Fondue Pairing with Women Who Like Beer
Where: The femALEist Abode, 1157 Church (at Elizabeth)
When: 2-5 p.m.
Cost: $32 suggested donation
What: Local blogger extraordinaire pairs eight craft beers with numerous fondue variations (sumptuous pumpkin fondue is slated to make an appearance). End your Beer Week experience with delectable edibles and conversation with women who like beer! Event open to guys and gals. (Alert: beer geek dating opportunity)

BONUS:
After your Beer Week dinners, head over to Humphry Slocombe, where heavy-cream prodigy Jake Godby is teaming up again with Beer and Nosh to concoct a rotating selection of beer-infused ice creams, available all week. The last time we partook of Humphry ice cream after a beer dinner, we woke up with house-made marshmallow fluff crusting our jeans and shoes. Consider yourself warned.
