The past 72 hours in gossip, innuendo, and cold hard facts about the San Francisco restaurant scene.

Haighteration reveals that the closed Bistro St. Germain spot in the Lower Haight is about to reopen as Greenburger's (518 Haight, at Fillmore, 829-2491, sfgreenburgers.com). The owners are Matthew Nudelman and Stephanie Greenburg Nudelman. The pitch: meaty, regional American food inspired by Matthew's childhood in Buffalo.

Grub Street's passion for combing through liquor license applications pays off with the news that Rockit Room owner Tommy Choy is transforming Avenue Lounge into Tiki Haven (1334 Noriega). Given the fact that this was only an application, the opening is probably months away.

A few smaller bits:
  • Solstice Lounge is closed for one week while it rethinks the menu and adds wine on tap. (Eater SF)
  • The 721 Market location of Sellers Market has closed. (Eater SF)
  • The Orbit Room Cafe (1900 Market) has added a pizza oven, a communal table, and new cocktail menu. (7x7)
  • Place Pigalle (520 Hayes) in Hayes Valley had closed due to some brouhaha over not paying taxes, but it supposedly reopened this weekend. (Grub Street)
