Siamese-kaze, a Little Lime-on-Lime Action at Basil Canteen

Asian citrus is popping up with more frequency on drink menus around town, but the Siamese-kaze at Basil Canteen is hardly a bandwagon-jumper. It's been a staple here since the place opened in 2008. Vodka infused with Thai kaffir lime is whirred together with house-made lemongrass syrup and a wedge of the less tangy American/South American lime. It makes a lovely foil for the spicy Chiang Mai- and Bangkok-inspired street snacks and dishes on the menu.

Basil Canteen: 1489 Folsom (at 11th St.), 552-3963.
